We do not track your phone's location in the background. If you use "current location", it is used on your device only and is not sent to us. We do not sell data, show ads, or use your data for advertising or profiling.
Data about other people (family members you add, people you manage a house for): only add what is needed, and tell them you use the app. Members you invite see the shared houses.
The app is meant for adults managing a household. Accounts are for users aged 16 or over, or older where the law of the country where you live sets a higher minimum age for consent to online services. Children can be listed as household members (age group or age only) by an adult.
Where a provider may access data from outside the EU/EEA, transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.
While your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your account and the data only you can access within 30 days; shared houses stay with the remaining members but your membership is removed. We do not currently keep automatic backups of the database. If we start to, they are overwritten within 7 days. Technical logs are kept for up to 7 days.
You can access, correct, export (portability), and delete your data, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent, from the app (Settings → Privacy) or by writing to [email protected]. You can complain to your data protection authority, e.g. the CNPD in Luxembourg (cnpd.lu) or the authority where you live.
In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. Without the app: https://www.fillingtheblanks.me/emergencykit/delete-account/ or email [email protected].
Encrypted connections (TLS), access rules so that only members of a household can read its data (row-level security), and hashed passwords.
Recommendations and alerts come from official public sources (listed in the app). Emergency Kit is not an official government app. In an emergency, follow the authorities and call 112.
We will tell you in the app before important changes take effect.
